I see therapy as a “space of grace” – a place of safety and care where you can come just as you are, be seen, heard, and understood.  I am here to meet you where you want to begin.

From there, our work is a journey. You lead the way, and I am a compassionate, empathetic witness and companion to walk alongside you.  I am here to listen with empathy, ask questions with curiosity and care, and offer new perspectives on the challenges you face.  To support your unique goals, I bring an integrative, holistic approach, drawing from evidence-based frameworks including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and attachment-informed perspectives.

As I work with children and teens, my heart is the same: to meet them where they are with warmth, do my best to listen and see their world through their eyes, and remind them they are not alone as they face life's obstacles.  Utilizing modalities like trauma-informed care, CBT, and expressive play/art therapies, I provide a safe and nurturing environment for youth to safely express their emotions and make sense of their lives.

I view collaboration with parents and caregivers as an essential piece of a young person’s healing journey. Drawing on years of experience in clinical practice and the everyday realities of raising a family, I offer a grounded, real-world perspective. Together, we will work to help your child grow in resilience, discover their unique strengths, build up their network of supportive relationships, and develop effective coping tools.

Janice earned her Master of Science in Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University. Early in her clinical career, she spent several years providing therapy to young trauma survivors at the Kingsbridge Heights Community Center in the Bronx, NY. She later joined Redeemer Counseling Services in New York City as a Staff Counselor, working with adults through anxiety, depression, life transitions and stressors, relational issues, and family-of-origin dynamics.
