  • ABOUT KRISTEN

    Kristen Delventhal, MSW, LCSW, PMH-C, is a licensed clinical social worker and certified perinatal mental health specialist with more than a decade of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families. Kristen specializes in treating anxiety disorders, infertility related stress, OCD, trauma, life transitions, school avoidance, eating disorders, mood disorders, and neurodivergence, offering compassionate, evidence-based therapy tailored to every stage of life.


    Kristen received her Master of Social Work (MSW) from New York University, specializing in clinical social work and child, adolescent, and family mental health. She provides therapy for individuals ages 5 and up, using developmentally attuned approaches that integrate parents, caregivers, and school teams to support consistent progress across home and academic environments.


    In addition to her work with children and teens, Kristen has advanced expertise in women’s mental health, perinatal and postpartum support, infertility counseling, and couples therapy. She helps individuals and families navigate the emotional, ethical, and often traumatic aspects of fertility treatment, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and early parenthood. Kristen is experienced in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) and offers practical, supportive guidance grounded in compassion. She also incorporates SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and provides parent coaching, developmental screening, and support for infant and early childhood mental health.


    Kristen brings extensive experience as a school social worker, where she has spent more than ten years supporting students with complex social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Her background in public school systems allows her to collaborate seamlessly with educators, child study teams, and special education services.


    Kristen’s therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. She integrates a range of evidence-based modalities.


    Kristen is committed to creating a supportive, affirming environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.


    She is also an approved clinical supervisor in New Jersey, providing supervision for clinicians pursuing LCSW licensure through the New Jersey Board of Social Work.

  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Kristen completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree from New York University where she focused on clinical social work practice.  


    She has completed post-graduate training and certifications in several areas including: NASW NJ Trauma Certificate program; Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) through the Cognitive Behavior Institute in PA for OCD treatment; and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills Training with the Linehan Institute. 


    Kristen has also completed training in the Postpartum Support International (PSI) Components of Care and Advanced Psychotherapy as she pursues her perinatal mental health certification (PMH-C). In addition, she has training in The Gottman Method for couples therapy to support couples navigating the postpartum phase. 


    In 2025, Kristen pursued EMDR training with the Center for Excellence in EMDR and is currently in consultation towards formal certification. 


    Her most recent endeavor was training with the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) to support thoe navigating infertility and pregnancy loss. She continues to pursue specialized training in this area via the Seleni Institute.  


    Kristen hopes to combine her understanding of development, family dynamics and individual experiences from childhood through adulthood to meet the needs of all her clients.
